A SHORT HISTORY OF SLATE LAW OFFICES

Slate Law Offices has been located in downtown Markesan for over 60 years.
Originally called Paul and Slate Law Offices, the old law office was located above the Markesan State Bank. (In the picture above, the the single door on the right side, with the light blue shade covering the top half of the door, led up a flight of stairs to the office.)
In 1977, when the bank needed a new building to accommodate a drive through window, Slate Law Offices relocated to the lower level which was vacated by the bank.
Slate Law Offices currently has 4 vaults still located in it. (However, the vaults now contain client files instead of money and safe deposit boxes.) If one of the vaults was ever accidentally locked, only two people know how to open the vaults, William Slate, and the past president of the Markesan State Bank!
Slate Law Offices is centrally located in Markesan, Wisconsin (we are the population center of the state) and easy to find. In addition, we travel to Madison, Milwaukee, Stevens Point and Reedsburg on a regular basis.
